SP breathes fire on Food Security Bill passage

Samajwadi Party, which extends crucial outside support to UPA, today launched a sharp attack on the government on the Food Security Bill claiming that if it forces its way on the issue, then the opposition too could adopt a similar attitude.
"If they (government) force their way, then the opposition too could have its way...The bill should come up for consideration only when the House (Lok Sabha) is in order. It should not be passed in a din," SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav told reporters here.
To a poser on the continuation of Union Ministers Ashwani Kumar and Pawan Kumar Bansal in the Cabinet despite being embroiled in controversies, Yadav said "Congress is an immoral party."

The second part of budget session of Parliament appears set to be a washout with the Opposition unrelenting on its demand for resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as also Bansal and Kumar.
As only three days are left for the three-month long session to conclude, the fate of key legislations like National Food Security Bill and Land Acquisition Bill remains uncertain.
Opposition has been saying it was ready for early passage of the two legislations provided the government ensures the resignation of Bansal and Kumar.
The National Food Security Bill came up for consideration in the lower House yesterday and today but the House was adjourned following pandemonium.
