Blaming the state government as well as the district administration for violence in Faizabad, party MP from Lucknow Lalji Tandon such a policy of "appeasement" was damaging the atmosphere of brotherhood and amity in the state.
"This government is working under pressure of those who are known for their communal mindset. They keep threatening to withdraw their political support to the party," he said, claiming that he was not allowed by the district authorities to go to Faziabad.
Clarifying that he was not in favour of harassing anyone belonging to any particular community, Tandon, however, said any kind of "appeasement" at the cost of other sections of the society was also unacceptable to him.
Tandon also expressed regret that "no action" was taken so far against the perpetrators of violence that broke out in Lucknow after a religious gathering in August.
