"SP and BSP leaders are levelling allegations and counter allegations on corruption against each other, but the government which rode to power on the assurance of decisive fight against corruption does not seem to be taking any concrete step," BJP national vice-president Kalraj Mishra alleged while talking to the reporters here.

Citing example, he said recently state cabinet decided to return 895.63 acre land transferred to Noida during BSP government back to irrigation department.

Mishra said the government said that action would be taken against guilty officers, but after allegation and counter allegation between the leaders of two parties the probe went into back burner.

"An independent inquiry commission should be constituted to probe into all such cases of corruption and it should be asked to submit its report within a time frame and whatever report comes adequate action should be taken against guilty accordingly," he said.

The BJP leader termed hike in additional tax and energy charges as cheating with the people.

He demanded that the government should immediately roll back the decision and there was no such indication of the hike in the state budget.

The BJP leader also demanded that till the time any decision was taken on the proposed amendment bill on reservation to SC and STs in promotion, action should be taken in accordance with the ruling of the Supreme Court.

"I am of the opinion that in the case of reservation in promotion action should be taken in accordance with the ruling of the apex court," Kalraj said.

On being asked that policy of BJP was not clear on the bill tabled in the Rajya Sabha, Kalraj said the party would decide its policy after throughly examining the draft of the bill.

He said that till the time of discussion and decision on the bill, directive of the SC should be complied with.
