In a complaint made to the police, panchayat officer of Chowksahar Mansaram Yadav alleged that the former legislator called him to his house and pressurised him to make a payment of Rs 10 lakhs to two gram pradhans in an illegal manner, without undertaking any development work.
Yadav said when he expressed his inability to do so, the ex-MLA allegedly demanded the same amount for himself and with the two gram pradhans present there, abused and issued threats to Yadav.
Verma recently completed a jail term of five years in connection with an attack on a Dalit constable.
