Raising the issue, Naresh Chandra Agrawal (SP) said Minister of State for Petroleum RPN Singh had remarked outside the House that Uttar Pradesh government was not cooperating with the Centre for setting up an institute on the pattern of AIIMS in the state.
"It is a tradition that when the House is in session, Ministers do not make statements outside Parliament. Still RPN Singh made the statement, which should be treated as contempt of the House," Agarwal said.
He also accused Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal and Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Jitin Prasada for making statements outside Parliament.
"They should be made to apologise," he said through a point of order on which Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla intervened and said, "Centre has no complains from present government in Uttar Pradesh."
He said the Centre would write to the state government for making land available for it.
