At the two-day meet to be held on September 12-13, senior party leaders will discuss a strategy to not only strengthen the party's base outside Uttar Pradesh but also consolidate its support in the state to repeat its performance in the Assembly polls, party sources said here.
Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has already fixed a target of achieving 60 seats in 2014 Lok Sabha polls so that SP could play a leading role in the national arena.
Besides UP, SP also wants to focus on Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh to improve its tally in the Lok Sabha, they said.
The executive will have an agenda to build a proper organisational structure of the party outside UP besides looking for winnable candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.
The executive will also make an assessment of the political situation in the country.
