A reinvestigation has been ordered into a dowry case filed by a former ASI's daughter due to alleged botch up of the case by investigating officers.
District Superintendent of Police Pankaj Choudhary ordered reinvestigation of the case yesterday, after hearing the matter.
"It is unfortunate and sad that no action was taken against the offending inquiry officers of the district police even after the report by ASP," Choudhary said.
Ruchi Sharma, daughter of retd assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Mohan Lal Sharma, had filed a dowry case in November 2011 but the investigating officers of the case allegedly prepared a report in favour of the accused.
The retd ASI had filed a complaint in December 2012 against officer Bharat Singh Hada (SI) and head constable Bhagwan Singh of his own department accusing them of accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the accused and preparing a report in their favour.
The then SP of Bundi ordered an inquiry by Additional S P N L Pawan into the matter who had submitted a report in December 2012 saying the "investigation into the case is not justified and impartial."

However, no action was taken against the offending police officers.
Sharma had further alleged that due to flawed investigation by the accused he could not recover jewellery worth Rs 1.25 lakh given as dowry.
"The matter would thoroughly be reinvestigated and appropriate action would be initiated against the police officers," S P Choudhary said.
