"The first meeting of the executive, under state unit chief Shivpal Singh Yadav, discussed at length the strategy for making the 25th anniversary celebrations slated for November 5 a big success and a historical event," SP spokesman Ambika Chaudhary said.
The state executive committee members have been given different responsibilities for making the event a success, he said, adding they have also been asked to start preparations for the Assembly election due early next year to ensure the party's victory.
On the basis of the resolution passed in the executive, the MLC was expelled from the party.
Shivpal Yadav had yesterday convened a meeting of SP district and city unit presidents which was given a miss by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav though the former had personally invited him.
