"We will continue to support UPA to keep communal forces out of power but will oppose its anti-people policies," SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav told reporters here.

Yadav's remarks assume significance in the backdrop of Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee's statement that her party was ready to move a no-confidence motion against UPA government on FDI in retail issue and appealed to non-Congress UPA allies and other opposition parties to support it.

SP has 22 members in Lok Sabha.

Trinamool Congress has withdrawn support to UPA on the issue of FDI in retail and hike in diesel price.

Asked when he thinks the 2014 Lok Sabha polls would be held, Yadav said "this question should be directed at the Prime Minister.
