Kerala Assembly Speaker N Sakthan today charged that the violence unleashed by oppposition LDF MLAs inside the House on March 13 amounts to criminal offence.
There was no situation in the Assembly which provoked the opposition MLAs from destroying the dais of the Speaker, toppling the chair, pulling out the mike system and computers, Sakthan told reporters here.
It was the opposition MLAs who had attacked UDF MLAs, he said.
Condemning the attack by two motorcycle-borne miscreants who pelted stones and damaged the car of the Chief Marshall of the watch and ward staff of the Assembly today, the Speaker said it was 'pre-planned' and was a continuation of the March 13 incidents inside the House.
The LDF members bid to stall state Finance Minister K M Mani from presenting the budget over bar bribery allegations had turned violent when a section of them vandalised the Speaker's dais besides uprooting his chair.
