The 31-year-old pop star won't be asked to return for the next season of the talent hunt and her management team is now exploring potential television sitcom roles for her, reported Radar Online.

"Britney's manager, Larry Rudolph, is reading television scripts that the singer could accept. Britney's dad, Jamie feels that having his daughter on a sitcom would be a good fit for her.

"Britney needs to be kept busy, and a structured environment such as a television sitcom would be a natural fit for her," a source said.

"She actually has very natural comedic talents and is very funny, in an airhead sort of way," the source added.

Spears won't be asked to return as judge on the next season of 'The X Factor'.

"Britney, who was signed on a one-year deal, is the first person who will be expected to have her salary chopped. She is on a USD 15 million contract, which is absurd given that there's been no huge surge in the ratings.

"It just doesn't make sense to spend all that money on Britney when Simon Cowell will undoubtedly be able to find another high-profile judge to replace her at a fraction of the cost."
