Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani at his residence here this morning in presence of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra and Industry Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya to work out modalities for calling a special session, official sources said.
Besides discussing the issue of restoring membership of the MLAs, Choudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi and Kalpana Parulekar, they also discussed a letter given by Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh on the matter and reply to be filed in the High Court over the disqualification, they said.
The two Opposition legislators have moved the Madhya Pradesh HC challenging termination of their membership.
The Speaker is likely to meet Governor Ram Naresh Yadav tomorrow with a request to convene the special session.
Talking to reporters later, Chouhan said his meeting with the Speaker's residence was a courtesy call, but the issue of disqualification was also discussed and it was being examined by legal experts.
Depending on their opinion further action would be taken in this regard, the Chief Minister said.
