Special NIA court rejects bail of Kalyan youth

A special NIA court today rejected the bail application of Kalyan youth Areeb Majeed, arrested in connection for his alleged links with ISIS.
His bail application filed earlier this year mentions that he was falsely implicated and was kept in illegal custody.
Majeed's lawyer Mubin Solkar told the court that law cannot be applied retrospectively as when Areeb was a member of ISIS it was not a proscribed organisation before his arrest.
However, NIA relied on social media accounts and some posts available of the people who were in touch with him. The investigating agency also argued that in a photograph available Majeed was posing with an assault rifle.

It argued that the Majeed came to India with an aim of committing some illegal activity.
