Puducherry assembly will have a special session from July 22, according to a communication from the assembly secretary A Vincent Rayar on Thursday.
The session would begin at 9.35 AM and has been reconvened by the Speaker.
Official sources said the House was likely to have its session for two or three days.
The session would deal with the agenda of water conservation among other issues, the sources said.
"It is not a budget session, only a special session to discuss the water situation and plans for its conservation," the sources clarified.
The territorial government had, at the State Planning Board meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on July 13, pegged the fiscal requirement for the financial year 2019-2020 at Rs 8,425 crore.
The nod of the Centre is awaited for the draft plan of the Planning Board forwarded to it by the territorial administration.
