NCP leader Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar will be formally re-elected Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council at a one-day special session of the House tomorrow.
Formalities of his election will be completed in the special sitting so that he can conduct business of the Upper House during the Monsoon Session of the legislature beginning on July 18.
The newly-elected members of the Council will also be administered oath during the session.
Nimbalkar's current term ended today (July 7) and his election to the post of Presiding Officer is a mere formality as he has the support of Congress too. The NCP leader was re- elected to the Upper House unopposed last month.
Girish Bapat, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, today said the session will begin at 10 AM in the Central Hall of the Vidhan Bhavan.
"He (Nimbalkar) will be administered oath of office by Pro-tem Chairman. Governor C Vidyasagar Rao has chosen Jayant Patil of Peasants and Workers Party as Pro-tem Chairman," Bapat said.

Before he conducts the proceedings, Patil will be administered oath by the Governor.
The post of Deputy Chairman of the House is lying vacant, but Bapat said election for the same will not be held tomorrow. "The Chairman has the right to finalise the election programme to elect the deputy chairman," Bapat said.
The post fell vacant after the incumbent Vasant Davkare, of NCP, suffered a shocking defeat in the Council polls from the Thane local body constituency at the hands of Shiv Sena's Ravindra Phatak last month.
Congress has claimed right on Deputy Chairman's post.
