"The train will be taking devotees to the 'panj takhts' having a great significance in Sikh history," Congress MP Vijay Inder Singla, who flagged off the 'Panj Takhat special' train, said.
The 10-day journey to the holy 'takhts' (temporal seats) which are located in Punjab, Bihar and Maharashtra can now be done in one train at a low cost - which was not possible earlier, he said.
The train will return to Dhuri on February 25 after pilgrimage of Shri Hazoor Sahib at Nanded, Shri Patna Sahib at Patna, Shri Damdama Sahib at Bathinda, Shri Akal Takhat Sahib at Amritsar and Shri Keshgarh Sahib at Anandpur Sahib, the MP said.
