A speeding car went up in flames on a highway in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district after it hit a divider and then crashed into a roadshide bush burning alive one of its occupants and left another grievously injured on Friday, police said.
The incident occurred on Muzaffarpur-Darbhanga national highway and a doctor who was one of its occupants was burnt alive in the flames that engulfed the car, the deputy superintendent of police (East) Gaurav Pandey said.
The doctor's compounder, who was driving the car, received serious burn injuries, Pandey said adding the man was admitted to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital by locals.
The victim was identified as a resident of Pratapganj of Supaul district, he said.
