SpiceJet launches direct flight between Delhi and Adampur

The Adampur airport in Jalandhar today came under the aviation network of the country with budget carrier SpiceJet launching a daily direct flight from here to the city under a regional connectivity scheme.

The flight was flagged off by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha from Terminal 2 of the IGI airport.

SpiceJet was awarded Adampur under the first round of the regional connectivity scheme UDAN and the city is the fifth destination for the airline under this scheme, the airline said in a statement.

Flight No SG 8371 will leave from Delhi at 3.30 PM and arrive Adampur at 4.45 PM. On the return journey, the flight will leave from there at 5.05 PM and arrive here at 6.15 PM, the statement said.

"SpiceJet is proud to connect Adampur with Delhi and multiple domestic and international destinations on our network like Dubai and Bangkok. I am sure that business and leisure travellers from Adampur and nearby cities will be delighted by our convenient connections and vast network," the airline CMD Ajay Singh said.

SpiceJet also launched a daily flight between Delhi and Leh from today.
