SpiceJet to have bigger aircraft, more flights on four routes

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet today said it will add capacity on its four existing routes by adding bigger aircraft and introducing additional flights from June 15.
The airline is adding capacity on Bangalore-Mangalore, Chennai-Madurai, Bangalore-Hyderabad and Delhi-Lucknow sectors, which will now be catered by the 189-seater Boeing 737 aircraft, SpiceJet said in a release here.
SpiceJet will now deploy the 189-seater Boeing 737-800 on its Bangalore-Mangalore and Chennai-Madurai routes, which are at present being serviced by 78-seater Bombardier Q-400s, the airline said.
"We have seen good demands on these routes and to fulfil that we are adding new capacities on these sectors," said Kaneswaran Avili, SpiceJet chief commercial officer Kaneswaran Avili said.

SpiceJet is introducing a daily new flight on Bangalore- Mangalore route. The airline is adding capacity on this route by deploying Boeing aircraft and this is in addition to the existing flight being operated with 78-seater Bombardier Q400, it said.
Besides, the airline will also launch new flights on Chennai-Madurai sector which will be operated on Tuesday and Saturday. The airline already operates a daily flight on this route and with this new connection capacity on this sector would get boosted, the release said.
Also, new flight on Delhi-Lucknow route is being introduced that will fly daily except Saturdays, it said, adding, with this, SpiceJet will make Delhi-Lucknow a day return service from both ways.

Further, an additional flight is being deployed on Bangalore-Hyderabad route on Saturdays, the airline said in the release.
