Spices Board seeks application from children of estate workers

Spices Board has invited application from the children of cardamom estate workers in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka for availing educational stipend under the Plantation Welfare Scheme for pursuing their higher education after SSLC.
Children of workers and staff employed in cardamom estate (registered or applied for registration) are eligible for the stipend provided the income does not exceed Rs 3,000 per month per parent, Spices Board said in a release here.
The applicant should not be receiving any other grant, stipend or scholarship and should have minimum 50 per cent marks in SSLC/Plus Two/Degree courses.
Only two children of a worker or staff member of the estate will be eligible for the stipend.
Also, the applicant's parents should have had a minimum of 120 days' work during the period between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015, the release said.
Application forms for availing the stipend can be downloaded from the Spices Board website.
The application should reach the Spices Board's nearest office in the location on or before December 15, 2015, it added.
