Barring black pepper, most of the spices witnessed a declining trend at the spices market here today.
Copra Alapuzha, copra Kozhikode and copra edible prices slipped due to reduced offtake by millers and bulk consumers on the back of adequate stock availability.
Elsewhere, ginger bleached and unbleached both fell owing to lack of export as well as upcountry demand.
Black pepper, however, firmed up further on sustained buying by domestic consumers amid supply woes.
Copra Rajapur maintained a steady trend in the absence of necessary buying support.
Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode and copra edible Mumbai all shed by Rs 100 per quintal to finish at Rs 10,000, Rs 9,900 and Rs 12,100 respectively, as compared to last Saturday's level of 10,100, Rs 10,000 and Rs 12,200.
Ginger bleached and unbleached fell by Rs 10 per kg to each to Rs 230 and Rs 250 from Rs 240 and Rs 260 previously.
