Spices remain steady in mute trade

Prices of black pepper, ginger and copra maintained a stable trend in an otherwise mute spices market here today in the absence of any major demand from stockists and retailers amid lacklustre export offtake.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 515/600 (515/600), ginger unbleached (per kg) 120 (120), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 9,400 (9,400), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,300 (9,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 10,300 (10,300), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,900 (9,900).
