Spices rule steady in lacklustre trade amid limited demand

An overall steady trend was noticed at the spices market here today due to reduced demand from retail traders on the back of adequate stock positions.
Following are today's closing rates in Rs with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 545/585 (545/585), ginger bleached (per kg) 250 (250), ginger unbleached (per kg) 260 (260), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 9,000 (9,000), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,900 (8,900), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 10,400 (10,400), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,800 (9,800).
