A man dressed as iconic 'Spider-Man' has been arrested for repeatedly punching a policeman in the face who told him to stop harassing tourists in Times Square here.
The 25-year-old accused, Junior Bishop, has been charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
Police has said the officer interceded Saturday noon after Bishop demanded USD 5 to 20 from tourists who wanted to take pictures with him.
"Fives, tens, or 20s only," he allegedly demanded.
It was then that a police man overheard the outrageous prices and confronted the panhandler.
The officer told the accused that he could only accept tips not require payment.
Police then asked for his ID, but the man said, "This is none of your business," tearing off his mask.

The officer tried to arrest him but Bishop broke free after failing to produce identification and punched the officer in the face.
The officer was treated at NYU's Langone Medical Center for pain and swelling to the face, and was released later.
Bishop holds a criminal past as he was arrested in April in Times Square for allegedly getting caught with a knife while aggressively panhandling and pleaded guilty to misdemeanour assault last July after being arrested in Brownsville, Brooklyn, for punching a woman, police said.
