Spl court at Tihar orders release of 3 prisoners

Continuing with its effort to dispose of cases of the inmates held for petty offences, a special court was held in Tihar jail complex today which disposed off 10 cases and ordered release of three prisoners.
"A special court was held in Tihar court complex to dispose of cases of petty offenders languishing in jails. This court was presided over by Metropolitan Magistrate Loveleen Singh," Tihar Jail spokesperson Sunil Gupta said.
In this special court, the cases of 18 prisoners were taken up, out of which 10 cases were disposed off and five cases were sent back to concerned courts and three inmates were ordered to be released, he added.
This was the 146th court held at the Tihar Court complex in the Tihar Jail.
Such courts were being held in succession and till date 5,373 cases of prisoners have been settled, he said.
