Spl prayers held for those killed in Paris terror attack

Special prayers were said in memory of those killed in the terror attacks in Paris during Holy mass at an ancient church in Mahe, formerly part of French India, a priest said today.
Jerome Chinganthara, Vicar of the 350-year-old Shrine of St Theresa of Avila at Mahe, said special prayers were said as part of the services on Sunday in memory of the 129 people killed in the bloodbath in Paris.
He noted that many people from Mahe, who opted for French citizenship when this French territory was handed over to the Indian Union in 1954, are now peacefully settled in France.

According to officials, around 30 to 35 families of people who opted for French citizenship are still settled in the former small French town, which stands landlocked by Kerala's Kozhikode and Kannur districts.
