Technical director Alex Alvares has warned his side that they must start winning consistently or risk making "things uncomfortable" for them towards the later stages of I-League.
Sporting Clube has been hugely inconsistent in this year's I-League. They started with a goalless draw against East Bengal -- without fielding a foreign player -- but then losses against Dempo, Mumbai FC and against Pailan Arrows have raised questions.
"The Pailan Arrows match was very disappointing. The players did not stick to the plan and did what they liked. They just lobbed the ball when everyone knows we like to start moves right from the goalkeeper," said Alvares.
Sporting Clube, who have seven points from seven matches, are placed tenth, three points behind Pune FC who are placed seventh.
Sporting Clube need to play to their potential if they are to collect full points. "There have been instances where full points were there for the taking. We cannot afford to play so carelessly. If you ask me personally, we should have killed the match as a contest (against Arrows) in the first 45 minutes itself," said Alvares.
Pune FC, on the other hand, came from behind to steal a point against lowly-ranked United Sikkim Football Club.
