I-League side Sporting Clube de Goa have retained head coach Mathew D'Costa for the next season.
D'Costa guided the team to a commendable performance in the second phase of the I-League to pull the club out of relegation.
"We have retained most of the players who have played in the I-League along with Mathew," stated Sporting Clube de Goa CEO Victor Fernandes.
"I'm happy working with this team. The team played really well and we want to do much better in the next season. We are trying to keep the entire squad together," stated Mathew D'Costa.
After finding themselves in the relegation zone during the first leg, Sporting Clube put up a fine show in the second leg after they roped in Odafe Okalie on loan from Churchill Brothers and Brendon Fernandes as the duo won matches to save them from relegation.
"The club have signed a new contract with Odafa while Brandon Fernandes who in on the radar of East Bengal too is likely to sign for Sporting," stated Victor Fernandes.
