Spot demand, global cues lift copper futures 0.33 per cent

Copper futures traded 0.33 per cent higher at Rs 460.50 per kg today as speculators raised their bets amid rising spot demand and a firm trend overseas.
In futures trade, copper for delivery in November rose by Rs 1.50, or 0.33 per cent, at Rs 460.50 per kg in a business turnover of 1,713 lots at Multi Commodity Exchange.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month February edged up by Rs 1.40, or 0.30 per cent, at Rs 465.30 per kg in 18 lots.
Analysts said apart from rising demand from domestic consuming industries, firmness in the base metal at the London Metal Exchange (LME), influenced copper futures here.
Globally, copper was three-month was up USD 21 at USD 7,081 per tonne at LME.
