Amid pick up in domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions, cardamom prices were up by 0.60 per cent to Rs 1,524.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March month went up by Rs 9.10, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 1,524.70 per kg in business turnover of 1 lot.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in February contracts traded higher by Rs 4.80, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 1,480.10 per kg.
Traders said fresh positions created by participants after uptick in domestic and exports demand in the spot market against fall in supplies from producing regions mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
