Cardamom prices were up 0.70% to Rs 643.90 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March rose by Rs 4.50, or 0.70%, to Rs 643.90 per kg, in a business turnover 69 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in April edged up by 1.20, or 0.17%, to Rs 687.20 per kg in 29 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by participants due to pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from growing regions, mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
