At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in current month spurted by Rs 1.50, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 423.05 per kg in a business turnover of 466 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 1.30, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 428.70 per kg in 10 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures trade to raising of bets by participants following a firm trend at the domestic spot markets on increased demand.
