At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February edged up by 15 paise, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 454.15 per kg in a business turnover of 1,679 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April contracts was trading higher by 10 paise, or 0.02 per cent, to Rs 457.55 per kg in 3 lots.
Analysts said rising demand from consuming industries in physical markets mainly explained the rise in copper prices.
