In futures trade, copper for delivery in June rose Rs 1.05, or 0.28 per cent, at Rs 370.75 per kg in a business turnover of 214 lots at Multi Commodity Exchange.
Similarly, the metal for delivery for the current month edged up by 95 paise, or 0.26 per cent, at Rs 366.30 per kg in 2,956 lots.
Marketmen attributed rise in copper prices at futures trade to pick up in demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets, besides covering-up of pending short positions by participants in view of monthly expiry.
