Guargum prices firmed up by Rs 71 to Rs 6,835 per quintal in futures trading today after participants created positions, driven by a firm trend at the spot markets on domestic as well as export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in November surged by Rs 71, or 1.05 per cent, to Rs 6,835 per quintal, with an open interest of 24,575 lots.
Also, guargum for delivery in most-active October was trading higher by Rs 50, or 0.76 per cent, to Rs 6,650 per quintal, having an open interest of 2,56,204 lots.
Marketmen said the rise in guargum prices at futures trade was mostly supported by a firm trend at the physical markets on strong domestic and export demand.
Besides, tight supplies too supported the upmove, they added.
