At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in July rose by Rs 74, or 0.93 per cent to Rs 8,050 per quintal with an open interest of 22,475 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in June moved up by Rs 68, or 0.86 per cent to Rs 7,950 per quintal in 1,420 lots.
Analysts said traders created fresh positions after uptick in demand in the spot market against tight stocks positions on restricted supplies from producing regions which mainly led to rise in turmeric prices at futures trade.
