Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, refined soya oil prices were up by 0.45 per cent to Rs 642,50 per 10 kg in futures trade today as participants created fresh positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in September month moved up by Rs 2.85, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 642.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 7,860 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in October contracts traded higher by Rs 2.30, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 647.60 per 10 kg in 56,010 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders following uptick in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
