Spotted deer found dead in Tata Steel zoo

An adult male spotted deer was found dead by the keepers at the Tata Steel Zoological Society garden here during distribution of food in the safari area today.
Post-mortem examination revealed that the deer died at around 11 AM due to old age complications, liver and renal failure, Rajnish Kumar, member of the managing committee of the Society, said claiming it was a natural death.
The zoo has 81 spotted deer in its collection as on date, he added.
