The snowfall added beauty to the carnival at the famous resort, 50km from the summer capital Srinagar, with a large number of tourists, includingBollywood actor Imran Khan, enjoying the snow flakes.
In the carnival, Gulmarg is bustling with the activities which include race of Anti Terrain Vehicle, and Ponywallas in the main bowl.
At Kangdoori, the race was organized for snow scooters and skiing and sledges, an official spokesman said. All the activities happened amid snowfall and the tourists present on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the tourism department to organize such events.
He said people are struggling in Mumbai and other cities with soaring temperature of 40 degree Celsius but in Kashmir it is snowing. "I feel every Indian should make it a point to visit Kashmir and enjoy its beauty. The weather is so pleasant that one would want to stay here forever," Khan said.
