Spring seeps into Himachal
Press Trust of India Shimla After almost two months of cold wave conditions, temperatures in Himachal Pradesh have started soaring as it stayed three to eight degree Celsius above normal while minimum night temperatures fluctuated by one to two deg Cs.
Una in Shivalik foothills was hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 29.0 deg C, four notches above normal while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high of 28.0 deg C, followed by Solan 26.7 deg C , Nahan 23.5 deg C and Dharamsala 21.8 deg C .
Shimla which was hottest during the night with minimum temperature at 12.1 deg C recorded maximum temperature at 21 deg C , 8.5 degree above normal.
The minimum temperature rose by one deg C in Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district recording lowest temperature at minus 9.4 deg C while Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded a low of minus 1.0 deg C, followed by Bhuntar 5.0 deg C, Manali 5.4 deg C, Solan and Sundernagar 6.5 deg C, Una 8.2 deg C, Nahan 9.4 deg C and Dharamsala 10.6 deg C, two to four notches above normal.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the state during next five days with marginal rise in mercury.
