The religious affairs ministry said today that every possible step will be taken to prevent the film from being aired in Sri Lanka.

"We condemn any acts disrespecting any religion," Religious Affairs Minister M K D S Gunawardena said.

"We will not allow the screening of this film which is a sensitive (issue) to Muslim people," he said.

He said an advertisement will be published in newspapers requesting local media stations not to show it.

The movie also drew large scale protests in the country early this week.

Several streets in Colombo were blocked in protests after Friday prayers.
