SRL Diagnostics creates record for blood tests

A private lab network in India, SRL Diagnostics has set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of blood glucose level tests, conducted on World Diabetes Day.
A record number of 10508 free blood sugar tests were conducted at the labs in Delhi and Mumbai in eight hours surpassing a previous UAE record of 9,642 blood glucose tests, set in May 2014.
The free walk-in tests were organized as a part of a campaign to highlight the menace of diabetes and encourage people to make healthy lifestyle choices.
A team of experts worked tirelessly collecting samples and conducted screening at the various SRL Diagnostics labs in Delhi like Tihar jail, Neemka Jail Library (Faridabad), Neemka Jail Womens Ward, Amity School, Fortis Shalimarbagh and Fortis Noida etc. In Mumbai, the tests were conducted in various centres of Dharavi, Fortis Vashi and Fortis Mulund.

Diabetes today is fast gaining the status of a potential epidemic in India with more than 62 million diabetic individuals currently diagnosed with the disease.
