The police had received a tip-off that Chotu Kumar involved in several cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery and firearms smuggling was in a car near Rajiv Nagar bus stand for delivery of a consignment of firearms to criminals of Haryana and the national capital.
"A team of Special Cell after an exchange of fire on July 5 recovered one loaded pistol and 30 pistols, which were being smuggled into Delhi for supply to Delhi and Haryana based criminals," a police officer said today.
Even the car being used by the accused was found to be stolen from the Greater Kailash area. Police has registered a case under Arms Act against Kumar.
