A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) trooper who sustained bullet injury in the head during a militant attack in Srinagar's Zakura area recently, has been declared out of danger today.
The condition of Sub-Inspector Raj Kumar, who was airlifted from Srinagar and admitted to the AIIMS here last week, has improved, officials said.
"Happy to inform that SI/GD Raj Kumar who received a head shot injury in #Zakuraattack and was airlifted to Delhi AIIMS is now out of danger," the SSB said in a tweet.
An SSB patrol team was attacked by militants on October 14 in which trooper Ghanshyam Gurjar was killed. Eight troopers were also injured in the attack in which as many as 350 rounds were fired.
The incident took place at Zakura when militants fired on the vehicles of SSB carrying its personnel to their camp after performing law and order duties in Srinagar city.
