Health Minister J P Nadda in a written reply said a total of 305 posts of various faculty disciplines were created for each of six functional AIIMS namely in Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh.
He said vacant faculty posts are being advertised regularly by the institutes depending on the requirement but as high standards have to be maintained in selection, keeping in view of the stature of these institutes of national importance, all the advertised positions "could not" be filled up.
"Further unfilled vacancies are being re-advertised. All the institutes have been advised to fill up the posts on regular basis. To facilitate expeditious filling up of vacancies, separate SSCs have been constituted for each of the aforsaid six AIIMS," Nadda said.
He said the upper age limit for direct recruitment against the post of professor and additional professor in the six AIIMS has been raised from present 50 years to 58 years.
He said that various positions of senior resident and junior resident are also advertised and filled up on need basis by the respective AIIMS.
