Stanadyne working on doubling sales from India

Stanadyne, manufacturers of diesel and gasoline fuel injection systems for off-road and on-road engine applications, plans to invest about Rs 100 crore in its Chennai plant for its proposal to launch high-technology fuel injection systems.
Stanadyne President and CTO Dr John Pinson said the company will introduce a new fuel injection system for under 50 HP engine market in 2016, which he claimed would decrease particulate emission by 50 per cent and provide better fuel economy of up to eight per cent.
For a typical farm application, the fuel savings could translate up to Rs 15,000 per year, he said.

"The company aims to strengthen its market presence in India and will produce these next generation diesel fuel injection systems at its Chennai plant, requiring an investment of approximately Rs 100 crore over the next few years," a company statement read.
"The new product will be developed by Stanadyne's engineering team (in India). This new product introduction will be a key revenue driver and is projected to double sales from India over the next several years," it said.
"With evolving requirements to reduce emissions, fresh thinking in fuel injection systems is needed, particularly for engines below 50 HP. These engines, often used in farming, construction and industrial sectors, are responsible for more than 95 per cent of off-road particulate emissions," Pinson said.

The Chennai facility has a fully-integrated engineering team for design, development, testing and manufacturing of products for Indian market, it said.
