Star India to launch English GEC Star World Premiere HD

Broadcasting major Star India today said it will launch a new English general entertainment channel -- Star World Premiere HD -- tomorrow.
Star World Premier HD will air 26 new and returning shows from four of the biggest global television studios in High Definition (HD), Star India said in a statement.
The channel will be available on Tata Sky HD.
"We believe once the channel is launched, India will be privy to the latest seasons of the best American shows on air currently alongside America, changing the viewer experience in India forever," Star India General Manager (English channels) Kevin Vaz said.

Star India has always focused on innovative strategies to provide entertainment to its viewers and the launch of Star World Premiere HD is an endeavour in this direction, he added.
The channel will see the launch of new shows like Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The Michael J Fox Show, The Blacklist, The Goldbergs and Sleepy Hollow and returning shows, Homeland, Castle, Revenge, White Collar, Modern Family, The Simpsons, Glee and Two & A Half Men, among others.

Star India already runs English GECs Star World and Star World HD in India.
The Star India network comprises of more than forty channels in seven languages viewed by over 600 million viewers. Its portfolio includes Channel [V], Life OK, Movies OK, Star Gold, Star Movies, Star Movies Action, Star Utsav and Star Plus.

Its bouquet of affiliate channels includes Star Jalsha, Star Pravah, Asianet, Asianet Plus, Suvarna and Vijay.
