The untitled film has eyed several names as director candidates including Jon Favreau and Matthew Vaughn, after losing director Josh Trank, reported TheWrap.
MacLaren reportedly met with Disney for potentially directing the movie. It was said to be an ordinary meeting and there was no further indication that she would exactly get the job.
Sources said that Warner Bros had an issue of hiring MacLaren as director. The rumour said that her lack of experience on tentpole-sized film raised some concerns.
Previously, MacLaren was signed on to be the director of Warner Bros and DC Entertainment's adaptation of "Wonder Woman". Unfortunately, she left the project due to creative differences and was replaced by the former "Thor: The Dark World" director, Patty Jenkins.
There have not been many details about the movie but it is said to centre on conflict between Boba Fett and Han Solo. The film is scheduled to hit theatres in the summer of 2018.
