"Awareness is the most important tool to achieve success in the implementation of programmes like NRHM," Abdullah said addressing the first-ever meeting of district level vigilance and monitoring committee of National Rural Health Mission here.
The Union Minster asked the officers to work with a "missionary zeal" in providing health-care facilities to the people and advised them to work along with local MLAs while formulating plans under different NRHM programmes.
Abdullah also stressed for conducting quarterly review meetings to ascertain the pace of progress and directed for holding such review meeting in September this year.
The Minister of New and Renewable Energy applauded officers for holding such a meeting saying that this will lead to formulation of new plans to make the NRHM a success.
District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Baseer Khan gave a detailed report of aims and objectives of NRHM through a power point presentation at the meeting.
