Start work in infrastructure projects: Naveen to officials

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today issued directions to the officials to start work for infrastructure projects including one road and three irrigation units worth Rs 53.42 crore.
While approving the proposals, Patnaik said the infrastructure projects included a 22.4 km long road from Nischintakoeli in Cuttack district till Lalitgiri in Jajpur district.
"This road will improve communication among the Lalitgiri-Ratnagiri and Udaygiri golden triangle area known for preserving Buddhist sites," Patnaik said.
Similarly Rs 17.74 crore would be spent for digging of 2.9 km long Darpani branch canal under Rengali Irrigation project.
Patnaik also approved expenditure of Rs 2.25 crore for construction of concrete work, cross regulator gate and way-bridge of Telengiri main canal. The chief minister said all these works should be completed within next six months.
This apart, Patnaik approved expenditure of another Rs 12.15 crore for digging of three kilometre long of Narsinghpur branch canal, official sources said.
